Tokyo - A historic temple in Japan runs out engulfed in flames. Temple 250-year-old has been used to worship the Japanese people since the 13th century ago.
Tokumanji Temple standing in the mountains of Nagano prefecture was hit by a fire on Thursday (17/1) night. The fire started at the residence of the head monk and then spread to the main prayer hall.
Local police spokesman said the fire wiping out a room in the temple area. Total area of 355 square meters was scorched by fire. Similarly, as reported by AFP on Friday (01/18/2013).
There were no fatalities or injuries in this fire. But local residents deeply regrets this incident, because they lost a very historic temples.
"The history of this temple began in the 13th century, when the temple was first built in 1755," said one local museum curator.
"This temple is one of the few buildings that survived the earthquake in 1847. We really lost a very valuable asset," he added.
Japan filled with temples devoted to worship for Buddhist gods. Locals often come as a particular day for worship.
Buddhism came from mainland Asia, also widely embraced Japanese citizens. This teaching is practiced side by side with the native Shinto cult originated in Japan.
In fact, not a few people who run the teachings of both faiths. They run the traditions of both faiths.
